Medical assessment
Decisions regarding medical treatment are made exclusively by an authorised BIG-registered doctor.
The doctor assesses your individual circumstances and determines, among other things:
- whether treatment is appropriate for you
- whether medication is medically responsible
- which treatment or dose may be appropriate
- when treatment should be changed or stopped
No guarantee of treatment
Completing an intake, speaking with a coach or registering with KO does not automatically mean that you are eligible for medication or other medical treatment.
No guarantee of results
Weight loss and other outcomes vary from person to person.
KO does not guarantee:
- how much weight you will lose
- how quickly you will see results
- whether a particular treatment will work for you
- how long treatment will be required
Coaching and medical care
Your coach supports you with habits, structure, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress and maintaining behavioural changes.
A coach does not diagnose medical conditions and does not prescribe medication.
Medication
Medication should only be used as prescribed by your treating doctor.
Do not start, change or stop medication without discussing it with your doctor.
If you experience serious or unexpected symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

Side effects and risks
All medicines may have side effects and risks. Before treatment begins, the treating doctor will discuss relevant risks, possible side effects and any contraindications with you.
